27/08/01  Sunshine and sunflowers - Eden almost to myself, a glass of Eden Ale - Bliss

 

27/08/01 12.50pm in the HTB -  Phew - it's hot I'm off to get a glass of Eden Ale!

27/08/01 Bank holiday Monday - One of the quietest days so far this year.

 

22/08/01 Rory's Coracle - Eden's Marketing Director Dave Meneer gave a talk on how to Promote Eden and make friends.  There were an estimated 1.5 million visitors by the end of the 1st year. Future plans hinted on - another biome and a mono rail train linking the car parks and various attractions plus a 200 bedroom hotel with conference facilities, but Eden won't be a theme park!

 

17/08/01 Rory & his Coracles  -  Chicle the latex from this tree forms the base chewing gum, delicious sapodilla fruits can be seen.  HTB is the place to find it.

 

17/08/01 Miniature kite making in the WMB - Willow weaving gets bigger by Indigo tent.

 

17/08/01  Saffron building her bamboo house in the HTB, she explained how versatile  bamboo was as a building material, strong, light and easy to use.

   

17/08/01 Eden Arena view - Robert Bradford working on his giant Bee, I said to him,  "I can't wait to see it working", He said "Neither can I...Come back at Christmas"  ho well a good reason to visit Eden again.

 

16/08/01 New land train operating from near the noodle tent to the Banana car park,  this saves a lot of walking if you came on a coach.  Note - this  bypasses the Eden shop, which is well worth a visit, so walk up or take the other train if you want to shop before you leave.

 

16/08/01 Tyred - have a look round the real estate - man eating plants inside!

 

16/08/01 Willow weaving - Boat building it's all happening at Eden today.

 

16/08/01 Everyone's doing it with the willow - a really good atmosphere this morning.

 

16/08/01 Juggling and weaving willow - It's Bamboo and willow week at Eden.

16/08/01 The first birds are introduced into the HTB (called white eyes) from South East Asia. You can hear and see them flying around in the jungle of the HTB They have been introduced as a natural method of pest control  - some insects have also been introduced.

 

09/08/01 Magic land - Eden at night, it takes on a whole new feel.

 

09/08/01 Knee High thrilled the crowds with a stunning performance. 

 

09/08/01 Crowds surge in to get a good spot in the Arena - cold evening, you need to wrap up warm with lots of coats.  Not every one seems to have come prepared.
