27/01/04 Lots of bulbs, and there will be masses of colour once this lot get blooming.

 

27/01/04 A winters day at Eden, more like spring even through the forecast was snow.

 

27/01/04 Work so far on the education building.  Heavy rains have caused some land slip near the central steps.  It looks worse than it is but will soon be sorted.

18/01/04 An long Aztec Tapestry tells the story of Cocoa in the HTB under the cocoa trees.

   

18/01/04 HTB views, a splendid day for a walk in the tropics

 

18/01/04 Some specimen plants are to be found on the way up to Wild Cornwall. One of the many bulb fields that have been planted are growing fast and should be ready for the bulb festival in early February.  Don't forget to come and visit then. I'll show you them in bloom on this site if you can't make at that time.  Use this picture diary to look back at the last two years to see what's in flower and when!

 

18/01/04 You'll never know what you may find up in 'Wild Cornwall', like this hand just sticking out of the stone wall,  there's some amazing views from up here too.

 

18/01/04 Views from the frosty heights of Wild Cornwall

 

18/01/04 Heather fields at Eden's entrance.  No, this is not a new ski run! but a rather icy walk way up high on the way to the Wild Cornwall exhibit, First frost of the year last night.

 

18/01/04 A trio of drummers in the HTB adds to the atmosphere of being in the tropics.

Most of the mulching around the plants has now been completed.

13/01/04 Work going on near the apple orchard and new boundary fence erected to screen off the new education building works.

Snowdrops on the mound up in Folklaw and Myths near the Wild Cornwall exhibit.

06/01/04 Definitely an air of Spring around the HTB today the plants seem to be lapping up the early Spring sunshine filtering through the tree canopy way above. How privileged I am to live near a place like this, on a day like this, and no apologies for being an Eden junkie either!

06/01/04 Fence being erected on the boundary of the new education building. Tarmac being laid and other construction is taking place near the newly sited toilets.

29/12/03 Shadows are long, but the sky is blue. A good number of visitors enjoyed Eden today

 

14/12/03 It's a good time of year to visit Eden if you like to have it almost to yourself!

 

14/12/03 New exhibit in the Warm Temperate Biome.

 

14/12/03 A Christmas robin has found a comfortable home for the winter in Warm Temperate Biome.  Spring is just around the corner as the bulbs pop through to check the weather.
