01/11/05 The first of two friends tours of the 'Core' Jo, surrounded by Eden's friends, gave us lots of info on the build and exhibits. A view of the Exhibit Hall from the offices on the top floor. 01/11/05 Friends were shown areas where the public do not usually have access, This was one of the four class rooms. 'George' gave us lots if interesting facts on the building. 01/11/05 Here we are in the central core, where the giant seed of granite will be lowered some time next year. The floor is just being laid with the granite from the same quarry. Visitors will be allowed in here shortly, as soon as the floor is finished. 01/11/05 The central core, a special place indeed. Children from Church Town Farm Lanlivery, made the mosaic on the wall next to the ladies toilets. Thank you Jo and George for an interesting and informative visit to the Core. 31/10/05 A wet start to the day, but that didn't stop the visitors coming to Eden. Autumn colours glow out in spite of the rain. 31/10/05 Acres of freshly frozen ice awaits the school parties. David Cameron visits Eden, spending about an hour and a half on site. 31/10/05 David Cameron giving interviews and a photo call in the Citrus Grove. 26/10/05 Bulb planting has started on the link building roof again this year. Clematis being planted next to the supporting woven willow fences. 26/10/05 Lynne (who has been with Eden since it's very beginning) is offering sparkling wine samples in the shop. Lots of smiling faces on the Ice Rink. 25/10/05 Stewart Ross signing his new book 'Pirates Plants and Plunder' in the Eden shop. Half term brings many visitors to enjoy the various activities including Ice skating. 25/10/05 The ice rink is the place to be seen and is again proving to be very popular. 23/10/05 Story telling in the Warm Temperate Biome. 23/10/05 The Alpine Hut is a good place to get a coffee, relax and watch the skaters.. 22/10/05 The Ice Rink is open and the first skaters are on the ice. The viewing area is along one side of the rink, where excited young faces wait before their turn on the ice. 22/10/05 The Ice shop opens it's doors for the first time this season, they are selling lots of appropriate goodies for your spin on the ice, like thick woollen (Eden) socks and easy to eat nibbles. Faces alight with anticipation at the ticketing and boot exchange. 20/10/05 Jill planting more bulbs. Tree on Ice, the first of the trees travelling across the ice like a large curling stone, to the central island. 20/10/05 All hands on the decking as the Ice Rink is made ready for Saturdays opening. The winter festival starts in earnest on the 5th November. 20/10/05 The new larger ice skate boot exchange tent being equipped with shelving. Another tree on the move to take it's turn in the ice! 20/10/05 Admiring their hard work, I believe this is a very green support for clematis to climb, but I could be wrong. 18/10/05 Dave (Eden's marketing manger) after a short update on what's currently happening at Eden, then introduces Richard Mabey to the friends of Eden for a talk on his new book Fencing Paradise. 18/10/05 Richard talked and read passages from his book that described how Eden affected his personal sensory awareness. Meriel looking after the book sales. 18/10/05 A chance to get your book signed, the room was full of Eden celebrities this evening. Sue Hill, created the superb illustrations in the book, so lots of signings! 15/10/05 Tree sculptures, on the zig-zag pathway. It's light and airy in Joe's cafe which is to be found in 'The Core'. 15/10/05 The Ice Rink continues to freeze down, a platform can be seen where Christmas trees will stand. More exciting disco type lighting is being installed by the maintenance team. 15/10/05 Man size cacti in the WTB. Powder blue skies make it appear more like spring than autumn. 15/10/05 Onions and Colour in the WTB. 13/10/05 Harvesting in the Eden Vegetable Garden. 13/10/05 The Onion display in the Warm Temperate Biome, where there's a splash of spring flowers and loads of colour, brighten up the autumn and visit Eden. 13/10/05 Among the many displays in the WTB is Pucho's Cacti Farm. 13/10/05 Well it's a mighty colourful prickly farm, and a must see! 13/10/05 Pucho's Cacti Farm, just completed, a few final touches by the Eden Team 13/10/05 The visitor lift is nearing completion, it should be in operation soon. 13/10/05 Boot exchange this year is on the site of the old land train station and not in the dome tent. The rink looks much bigger then last year, opens on the 22nd October. 13/10/05 The Ice Rink is already taking shape and the freezers are on. 04/10/05 Quacks and Donald getting used to their new pond near 'The Core' 04/10/05 The dahlia garden and the last of this summers lilies. 04/10/05 Busy-lizzie on the main steps. 04/10/05 Tug-of-war with the cables in the ducting. 04/10/05 The New Land Train Station, plan and the workings.
