Fynbos Saved - in 1999, one of Eden's partners: Fauna and Flora international (FFI), brought Flower valley in South Africa. The purchase saved 550 hectares of fynbos from being ploughed up for vines. This area of fynbos is now conserved and is producing a sustainable harvest - of cut flowers, you can buy a bunch of these exotic flowers from the Eden Shop.

10/12/01 A group of conical shaped buildings have appeared, I guess these are to house the Education facilities and may be extra catering for the summer. Not sure the design blends in with the Biomes, but it's early days yet as nothing is landscaped or planted near them.

 

10/12/01 WTB - flowing and aromatic plants are doing well -  Green Team still planting away.

 

10/12/01 The Royal Navy were in the Arena using a spark transmitter  to cross the Atlantic as Marconi once did, web (finding web address)   (if you want to get more of the story.

03/12/01 TV News tries to catch Adam's best angle as Eve watches on on the Orchard

Adam was built by a Cornish artist and ex-tall ship skipper, George Fairhurst.

 

03/12/01 Here he is, in his full glory wearing just the Cornish flag. He will be given movement soon, he sits on railway tracks and will hopefully rock gently back and forwards.

 

03/12/01 No it's not a new sculpture waiting to be assembled, just water tanks - I think!

29/11/01Tim mesmerising Eden Friends with a short but revealing speech. It would appear plans are afoot for major changes over the winter months. Tim will be in the shop Tuesday evenings if you still haven't had your book signed.
