18/07/06 The stage being prepared for
'Jungle days and nights'. (Jungle Season 11/07/06 Masses of colour this time of year at Eden. 11/07/06 The rich green turf of the Arena is a good place to picnic. 11/07/06 In the Eden flower garden. 07/07/06 The new plant sale area over looking the biomes is now open. 07/07/06 At the rear of The Arena colourful new flags are ready to fly once the breeze arrives. 07/07/06 The enlarged Arena is much more spacious and has easy access steps on either side. It has been said that a new type of sound system may be used for this years Sessions, it is an overhead boom with spot beamed sound, apparently this give superb sound with a 70% reduction of escaped sound out of the pit, should please both concert goers and local residents. 07/07/06 Synchro yellow glove display on the Link Bridge, visitors were amused both down below eating lunch and passing by. 07/07/06 Grapes in the Warm Temperate Biome. 07/07/06 Pinks and Borage in the flowers and medicine gardens. 07/07/06 Lowering the roof of the bus shelter. The new ticketing desks and layout should speed visitors through. 07/07/06 Covered walk way under construction. Foundations being laid across the bridge. 28/06/06 Small queues along the Street waiting to pay for entry into Eden. The Arena with football skills test activities. 28/06/06 Try your skill at a penalty shot. They look like carbon fishing rods but I think it more likely that flags will fly from them! 28/06/06 The Grand Steps shady and colourful. In amongst the fragrant sweet peas. 28/06/06 Med Kitchen in full swing. Tomato production in the WTB. 28/06/06 Removing side shoots from the tomatoes plants in the WTB. There is also a full crop of nectarines just about ripe for picking. 28/06/06 Nectarines. Namaqualand is about 250 miles North of Cape Town, the area is renowned for it's vast fields carpeted with daisies, recreated here in the WTB. 28/06/06 Open space area next to the WTB which is ideal for a picnic. New platform and decking for plant sales near the shop. This is a platform with a view covering the whole site. 28/06/06 Ken Thompson, (middle) and wife, Mike Petty (right) on the veranda of the Foundation Building before a friend talk, 'The truth about wildlife gardening' a book signing followed, Ken's new book 'No Nettles Required' 18/06/06 Approximately 2000 ran/walked for Eden's Race of Life, another 1000 supporters urged them on. Dave Eden's Marketing Manager welcomed everyone and wished them well. 18/06/06 The warm up dance and the start of the Race for Life. 18/06/06 All 2000 of them head off up and around Eden on their 3 mile run. 18/06/06 A challenging course around the slopes of Eden, made me puff just watching. 18/06/06 The finishing line and some of the first to cross it. 18/06/06 Some of the younger runners completing the course. It is hoped that this years event will raise £138 thousand for Cancer Research. An excellent commentary was given throughout by Pirate Radio. A heartfelt thank you to all those who participated either by running/walking or with 'behind the scenes' support. 17/06/06 A splendid shelter from the sun and rain, with a view too. 15/06/06 Summer views of the Biomes from the top footpath. 15/06/06 Bizzie Lizzie shady avenue. The first fragrant sweet peas of the season. 15/06/06 The Sweet peas are in bloom so Daphne, The Flower Lady, rings her bell to encourage more flowers to open and possibly some fairies to emerge from within the blooms. 15/06/06 Summer colour is everywhere at Eden. 15/06/06 The gardens surrounding The Core are becoming more established. 15/06/06 Bottle brush makes a lovely splash of green. Lilies in the WTB. 15/06/06 In the WTB flower production display is extremely colourful. 15/06/06 More lilies in the WTB. 15/06/06 You can watch all the games on Eden's big screen and take part in a football competition down in the Arena. 06/06/06 Friends of Eden in the link building for a Asian cookery demonstration and tasting session with Sri Owen. Sri Owen web site 03/06/06 Eden in summer. 03/06/06 Inside the WTB Outside in the Garden 03/06/06 Slow Food Dinner in the Gallery at Eden Project, Plymouth Gin and tonic to start, can you pick out Tim's silhouette against the blue evening sky. 03/06/06 The mission of the Slow Food Foundation for biodiversity organize and fund projects that defend our worlds heritage of agricultural biodiversity and gastronomic traditions. Murray Lachian Young gave a recital of some of poetry. This was a fund raising dinner and thank you to all who gave their time and donated produce. 03/06/06 The World of Taste Fundraising Dinner 03/06/06 Some of the chefs that gave their time to cook this evening. 03/06/06 A delightful variety of local cheese, Dick Strawbridge, after dinner speaker, and raffle control. This is my cat 'Tigger' she's an Eden fan as well!
