10/05/05 A hive of activity around the Street entrance as landscaping of apple one car park continues.  Arrival of a large round preformed roof next to apple one.

04/05/05 The sun shines from the west at 5:00pm Wednesday afternoon.

04/05/05 The ERC, steady progress with the copper roof. 

   

04/05/05 The bridge from the visitor centre is now closed to the public and partial deconstruction is taking place,  possibly to make way for the 'lift' that is to be constructed.  This lift will take visitors from the Visitor centre down the side of the cliff to the ERC.

 

04/05/05 The steel has arrived for the new transparent roof which will cover the outside tabled area near both Morocco Red restaurant and Zubb Zubb cafe.

 

04/05/05 A bit of disruption to Jills lovely vegetable garden, but it will be short lived as the job will soon be done and all the vegetables are in the waiting area ready for planting.

27/04/05 About half of the roof of the ERC  now has it's copper covering.  A lot of work going on near East end of the building, this is close to where a 'lift' down the cliff will be built.

18/04/05 Dawn Riggs gave an introductory talk to friends on natural fibres, and the history of spinning.  Dawn knows her subject, but there's always one question that makes you think!

 

18/04/05 Silk cocoons each one has a single thread of about a mile in length. A volunteer from the group of friends offered to lend a hand in a wool tug of war.

 

18/04/05 Bobbins and spindles by the score, some on the table and more on the floor. Baskets of wool, flax and cotton, there couldn't be anything that Dawn had forgotten.

10/04/05 Laurence visits on a Sunday afternoon with his family.  The huge Titan is now blooming in the Humid Tropics Biome.

 

07/04/05 The blue river flowing from the roof of the link building, the building work  is for a transparent roof extension that will cover the open eating area next to both restaurants.

30/03/05 In the HTB Tim's 'Titan Arum' is in bud,  full flower in about 10 days, allegedly this is the  worlds largest flower and it has taken 7 years of nurturing to achieve this one bloom.  (right) Tulipa Pinocchio in the Eden garden.

25/03/05 Huge drifts of daffodils spill down the hill side. Large bloomed daffodils line the main steps down to the Biomes and The Colour Explosion exhibition. 

 

25/03/05 Next door to the Colour Cafe many different types of daffodils and narcissi are displayed for you to choose your personal favourites, why not sit and have a coffee while surrounded by these vibrant spring colours.
